This cake was testing my patience (which I have none to begin with anyway). It tasted really yummy--peanut butter and chocolate marble cake with crushed peanut butter cups and chocolate pan frosting. I invited an artist teacher friend of mine to come help with the design of the cake. I had no idea how it would turn out. After three attempts at the face (taking off the first two layers), it finally was looking like a lion. This was for Cynthia's 40th birthday. I used multiple colors of buttercream to get the depth of the mane--browns, tans, creams, blacks and oranges.
