Chocolate Ganache Wedding Cake

This wedding cake came together with a one week's notice, from the help of Sue Seydel, Jose Barajas, the very talented florist (don't know her name), and my precious Lord Jesus.  My husband and daughter reminded me that I said I'd "never" do another wedding cake because of the pressure to make it perfect.  Guess I forgot that when I said yes.  Just trying to help a friend and her niece.

Just before delivering this chocolate tower, Jose reminded me, "The cake is second to the dress."  THAT'S when I started panicking!  Even in the hot weather, it came together nicely.  Thank You, Jesus, the Master Caker, for helping me!

Blingalicious

This blingalicious cake was for my adorable Mary Kay sister, Laurie Scott, as we celebrated her newly decorated blingy MK office and amazing business.  The guests dressed up in fancy dresses, had their pictures taken by a professional photographer, and just enjoyed Laurie's hospitality.

"Boy Oh Boy!" Baby Shower Cake

I don't know why, but this cake is just about my favorite one I've made so far.  The significance of it is that (as you can see) God blessed this family with five girls.  Count them--1, 2, 3, 4, 5!  And then they thought they were done having children.  Well, God has other plans for them.  Along came the six baby--and you guessed it--a boy!  Welcome, Evan Wayne Huhn.  Snips and snails and puppy dog tails.

This cake also came at a time in my life that was one of the lowest emotionally.  Things in my life I thought were certain were stripped from me, for no apparent reason.  God used my love of baking, creating, and blessing this family to help me grieve a very sad time in my life.  Praise Him for His faithfulness!

Scales of Justice

Frank, the paralegal that I work with at the law office, drew a picture of the birthday cake he wanted me to make him, INCLUDING the homemade peanut butter cups balancing on the chains.  Well, I'm no engineer, but I gave him what he asked for.  Recipe for the peanut butter cups (or balls) will be forthcoming.
